CONGRATULATIONS, HUBIE BROWN!
You gave us a great name for this e-Newsletter, as well as creating a graphic to go with it. You have won the Red Sox tickets, contributed by Gary Stiffler. Give him a call and collect them, and enjoy! We DO need a little help with this graphic, so MBE artists, can you help?
Give Marilyn a call at 860-389-2521.
Thanks to all for the entry ideas.

but out there - with our customers ."

Winning Corporate Business
Education Committee Offering MBE Panel
One of the many initiatives that the MBE Input Committee's Education Sub-Committee is activating this year is a panel discussion on "Accessing Corporate Business." Plans are in motion to offer this as a part of the GNEMSDC Spring Quarterly Meeting on May 29th at MIT in Cambridge, MA. More information will be coming to you via e-Blast and Dr. Fred's newsletter.
Focus of this panel discussion would cover such topics as:
- Preparation for Corporate Business
- How do I partner with larger MBE's?
- How to Prospect for Corporate Business
- Attitude Required for Corporate Business
Information to be shared at this panel discussion will only help you with the many business opportunities that are available to those of us MBE's who are looking to expand our businesses.
So, put May 29th on your calendar and stay tuned for more information!
Coming Soon!
Response to our monthly e-Newsletter has been positive. We are looking to you for comments and suggestions for essential actions for sustainable growth as business individuals as well as our Council as a whole. And as a response to suggestions, we will be adding in next month, updates from our Government Relations Sub-Committee on legislative issues and court cases, such as the Rothe Development Corp. vs Department of Defense, as well as new, fun items such as "ISM's". What is that? Watch for our first one next month, being contributed by Diane Winston of Winston Strategic Partners.
If you have comments and suggestions, email Marilyn at mdayton@eotomarketingsolutions.com, and let's work together to make this e-Newsletter be your source for information and updates that mean a difference for you.
Trivia Fun!
- Cats average 16 hours of sleep a day, more than any other mammal. (except a roommate I had in college)
- Humans shed about 600,000 particles of skin every hour - about 1.5 pounds a year. By 70 years of age, an average person will have lost 105 pounds of skin. (I don't think I should touch this one)
We Need You!
The purpose and mission of the MBEIC is to provide advice and guidance to the programs operating under the auspices of the GNEMSDC and to conduct such other activities that the Committee adopts in the furtherance of its goals to enhance minority economic development, provided such actions do not impair the 501c (3) tax-exempt status of the GNEMSDC. Go to www.mbeicct.org for more information.
We are looking for people like you, fellow MBEs, who would like to commit to helping one another and by volunteering to be a part of this wonderful group. The only requirement is that you join one of our sub-committees.
